Lyon president confirms Man Utd’s interest in Tanguy Ndombele, potential replacement for departing star

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed Manchester United’s interest in signing Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

The 22-year-old is on the wishlist of many United fans after a superb season in Ligue 1.

With AS reporting that United midfielder Ander Herrera is on his way to Paris Saint-Germain, it’s worth considering Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s desperate need for better midfield reinforcements over the coming months.

The question worth asking here is whether Ndombele is ready to make a jump from Lyon to United?

United will face plenty of competition for his signature if they do go for Ndombele. Aulas also named Manchester City, Juventus and PSG as clubs sniffing around the player, in an interview with Tuttosport, as translated by Sport Witness.

“It’s true [Juventus are interested]. But there’s also PSG, Manchester United and Manchester City.

“Honestly, I’d like to see Ndombele at Juventus with Pjanic, a player we helped develop at Lyon to who we’re still linked. We’ll see what happens.”

The Reds are bound to be linked with Ndombele or any midfielder on the back of an impressive season.

Although we’ve made plenty of signings in recent times to bolster the midfield, it’s still some way off being good enough to take United to the next level.

The Independent claim Paul Pogba is keen to leave Old Trafford this summer. He reportedly feels that he should be winning more silverware in his prime.
