Photo: Mourinho satisfied with Man Utd duo’s superb link-up play on international duty

Jose Mourinho looked to have enjoyed what he saw from England duo Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford on Saturday night.

The pair were in action for Gareth Southgate’s side as they kicked off their UEFA Nations League campaign by hosting Spain at Wembley

Although the victors won 2-1, there was real quality involved when England opened the scoring through Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford. As seen here, Shaw plays an exquisite through ball to put Rashford in behind the Spain defence and the forward kept his composure to beat his club team-mate David de Gea.

It was a wonderful piece of play from both United players as they continue to try and establish themselves as regulars for club and country. Based on the images below, it looks like Mourinho was certainly impressed by what he saw.

A bunch of Twitter users shared Mourinho’s reaction to the goal. It may be just short of a smile, but it’s a clear acknowledgement of being satisfied with that sequence of play.

Mourinho would have been more concerned in the second half when Shaw went down after a nasty head injury, requiring a stretcher and oxygen mask. Thankfully, he’s on the mend.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Mourinho’s reaction following Rashford’s goal.
