Scrolling through Twitter is something most of us are guilty of doing nowadays. You could be sat on the sofa, bus or toilet, and the first port of call is to check what’s being said on social media.
I was fortunate enough to stumble across a relatively new Twitter account under the username @brick_ballers, ran by graphic designer David Hitchman, who designs ‘cult footballers, brick by brick’.
It’s a great concept and one I wanted to support by giving coverage. Hitchman explains why he pursued the idea.

“It was just a combination of a few of my interests and passions: Lego, football and kit design,” he said.
“I think the Brain Deane [design] is my favourite, although I’m an Aston Villa fan and match shirt collector, so the Villa ones have an obvious connection.”

Deane aside, it was the George Best and Paul McGrath designs that appealed most to us. The detail is fantastic.

While McGrath is in a Republic of Ireland kit, it’s nice to see some variety in Hitchman’s work.
