Man Utd handed huge boost in Alderweireld pursuit, claims Sky Sports reporter

Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit to sign Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

It emerged shortly after 4pm that the North London club will listen to offers for not only Alderweireld, but Danny Rose and Moussa Dembele should anything materialise in the next 7 days.

Jose Mourinho is determined to add a new centre-back to his squad before then, with Harry Maguire and Yerry Mina also suggested as potential targets.

Though all three defenders linked with United would improve the side, Alderweireld would make a massive difference. He already has a La Liga title to his name and has played in a Champions League final, as well as reaching the World Cup semi-finals with Belgium this summer.

United desperately need a partner for Eric Bailly and Alderweireld would be the perfect fit.

Now, it’s up to Ed Woodward to strike a deal with Spurs if Mourinho is still interested.
