Serie A giants to double star’s wages in attempt to block out Man Utd

Juventus have reportedly prepared a new contract offer for Manchester United target Alex Sandro, according to Caliomercato.

While reports have linked Alex Sandro with a Premier League move the past two summers – Chelsea and United – an offer from the Reds hasn’t arrived yet and the Independent claim Jose Mourinho has changed his transfer strategy by prioritising a backup striker to Romelu Lukaku over a left-back.

That would suggest Mourinho is willing to start Ashley Young at left-back again next season or give Luke Shaw another chance to redeem himself.

Sandro was not selected for Brazil for their World Cup squad, which has already travelled to Russia.

However, it now looks like Juventus are about to offer Sandro a new contract. His current deal expires in the summer of 2020, but this new supposed extension could see him Turin based until the summer of 2022.

The Brazilian left-back currently earns €2.8 million per season whereas this new could will see his pay rise to €4 million per season.
