How Anthony Martial leaving Man Utd could be a blow for Liverpool

The Anthony Martial exit rumours won’t go away.

According to the Independent on Tuesday, Manchester United may even consider selling Martial to Premier League rivals Chelsea – granted Willian is allowed to move in the opposite direction.

The latest report on Martial, however, comes from the Mirror, suggesting the 22-year-old France international could be involved in a swap deal involving Borussia Dortmund.

The story claims Jose Mourinho is open to sending Martial to Dortmund if Christian Pulisic joins United as part of the deal.

Pulisic, 19, has attracted interest throughout Europe, including Liverpool more than others. The Mirror believes the American international is a long-term target for the Merseyside club and is highly regarded by boss Jurgen Klopp.

It seems that every day another Martial story emerges, and I’m close to accepting that the former Monaco attacker won’t be at United next season.

That said, I’m unsure Dortmund will be able to pay Martial’s wages…

Martial arrived at Old Trafford in 2015 to a warm welcome from Reds. He hit the ground running by scoring a cracking goal against Liverpool to introduce himself. Now, it looks like his career is taking a turn for the worst.

Shame…
