Match going Reds will be aware of Romelu Lukaku’s passionate celebrations this season – whether it’s him scoring or a teammate.
The Belgian centre forward has revealed the reason he didn’t join his Manchester United teammates in celebrating last weekend’s derby win over Manchester City.
Lukaku, who looked some way short of his best in the derby, today explained that it was due to feeling unwell that prevented him from partaking in celebrations in the away dressing room at the Etihad.
Instead he had been ‘throwing up’ following the full-time whistle:
Interesting to hear Romelu Lukaku say this afternoon he was feeling ill last weekend and couldn’t celebrate the derby win because he was throwing up in the dressing-room toilets. Added he’s feeling fine again now, which bodes well for Sunday.

Thankfully he’s feeling better again and is ready to charge the Baggies on Sunday, a game that could see West Brom’s relegation confirmed (depending on other results).
