Manchester United caretaker coach Darren Fletcher will soon be able to rely on Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.
A tumultuous Monday morning witnessed the sacking of Ruben Amorim, whose rapport with the top management had deteriorated over the past few weeks.
The Portuguese head coach was swiftly replaced by his former collaborator Fletcher, who has been managing Man Utd’s U18 side since the start of the season.
At this stage, it remains to be seen if the Scotsman will remain in charge until June, or will soon make way for a more experienced interim manager, with names like Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being floated.
But in any case, Fletcher will make his senior United managerial debut on Wednesday, when the team takes on Burnley at Turf Moor, and luckily for him, he might be able to rely on two players who missed the last few games of Amorim’s 14-month reign.
Man Utd will soon regain the services of Bruno Fernandes & Kobbie Mainoo
In his latest updates on CentreDevils, Carrington insider Sully reveals that Fernandes and Mainoo have both returned to grass training.
As the reliable journalist explains, the Man Utd captain is already pushing for an immediate return to action this midweek.

The 31-year-old has been almost omnipresent in MUFC’s starting lineup over the past six years, seldom missing a match.
The Portuguese playmaker has reportedly been begging the coaching staff to give him the green light to play. Fletcher will be making a final decision on the matter on Tuesday.
Will Bruno & Mainoo play together under Fletcher?
The same goes for Mainoo, who has been training individually over the past week. But as the source explains, the Englishman has been dealing with a calf problem. This is the sort of injury that requires additional caution to avoid a relapse.
| Stats in 25/26 | Appearances (Starter) | Goals | Assists |
| Bruno Fernandes | 18 (17) | 5 | 7 |
| Kobbie Mainoo | 12 (1) | 0 | 1 |
Mainoo was Bruno’s designated understudy in Amorim’s pecking order. But while his chance should have come when the skipper suffered an injury against Aston Villa last month, he unfortunately followed him to the treatment table.
With Fletcher expected to implement a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 system, it remains to be seen if there will be room for the two popular Man Utd stars to play together in the same lineup, as was the case when Erik ten Hag was in charge.
