Manchester United staff were left perplexed about spotting the reaction of Ruben Amorim and his collaborators following their sacking.
The Portuguese tactician only lasted 14 months in Carrington before being consumed by the insurmountable pressure that accompanies working for the most popular club in the world.
Amorim’s relationship with the club’s directors also disintegrated in recent weeks as the end drew near. Many felt that the 40-year-old sealed his own fate with his major outburst following Sunday’s draw against Leeds at Elland Road, when he explicitly expressed his dissatisfaction with the club’s trajectory, while reiterating his desire to be addressed as the club’s ‘Manager’, and not the ‘Head Coach’.
Ruben Amorim almost invited his own sacking
According to the Daily Mail journalist Chris Wheeler, Amorim’s shocking statements were indeed the final straw in his strained relationship with the hierarchy.
Therefore, INEOS inevitably wielded the axe on Monday morning, replacing Amorim with Man Utd’s U18 coach Darren Fletcher, who will act as caretaker.

Wheeler also reveals another interesting detail that occurred at Carrington this morning. The Man Utd staff were reportedly surprised to see the Portuguese manager and his technical collaborators leaving the training ground laughing and joking.
Amorim and his staff looked relieved while leaving Man Utd
While this reaction may be astonishing at first, it becomes somewhat comprehensible when considering all the pressure Amorim and his staff went through, especially in the final weeks, when the head coach was seldom seen smiling. Wheeler describes Amorim as a ‘free man’.
Based on the events of the last couple of days, many believe that the former Sporting Club manager was craving for his own sacking, as he no longer felt comfortable at the club. On Sunday, the manager was almost daring the directors to pull the trigger, and they obliged.

Another great personality leaves and it’s back to square one again
This chap is only 40 years old. He has lot to learn. A bit overrated.
Glazeri su najveci neprijatelji Man.Unateda.Od fudbalskog velikana srozali su Man.Unaited na ispod prosjecni klub, sve radi zarade…
Potpuno se slažem
With the payoffs they’re getting who wouldn’t be smiling they can have a great holiday and return refreshed in their new jobs away from the cauldron of Old Trafford
Just goes to show how inept Ratcliff is as a businessman. With all the cuts he has made to staff he then lands the club with a 10m bill for compensation.
Amorim should have been given til the end of his contract. This idea of instant success with a team that’s had more managers than hot dinners just shows the club is being run by a shower of twats.
Ratcliffe – “An inept businessman”!!
You are talking about one of the most successful businessman, not only in UK but the World!
From people who actually know what’s been going on at Old Trafford, Ratcliffe found a shambles. A Club ignored by owners with zero interest in the club as a football club. All it was to the grisly Glazers was a money pit to be plundered at their will
There was no management, no direction, no forward planning, just an asset rich piggy bank.
The lack of management will take a decade to sort out
To say Ratcliffe is a poor business after he has amassed a fortune of £20bn+ is simply stupid
He just got shafted for speaking his mind and you want him to show class?
Any premier league club they employs players that have an obligation to play for their country and being paid by their parent club should not be signed by MU at the present time MU is in a critical period and the guys that are away are needed now personally I wouldn’t employ three or four men that could be away at the same time.
We need need new owners to get the soul back in Manchester United. Wilco needs sacking
