Manchester United have made a substantial call over the future of Kobbie Mainoo.

On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the club made plans to meet with Mainoo, his agent and Ruben Amorim to get to the bottom of his current Old Trafford predicament following reports he was actively pursuing a move elsewhere.

The youngster was said to have opened the door to a late summer departure after not featuring for a single minute in the first two Premier League fixtures of the campaign.

He would go on to play the entirety of United’s second-round Carabao Cup encounter that night, although the real question will be whether he retains a place in the XI when the side hosts Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Last night, it seems as though David Ornstein (and subsequently, Romano) verified the outcome of the mid-week discussions between Mainoo and club chiefs.

The transfer expert revealed that the 20-year-old had informed United of his desire to leave on loan before Monday’s deadline, but saw his requests rebuffed.

He had reportedly made it clear that he didn’t want to complete a permanent move elsewhere, assuring fans that he still sees his future in M16.

Mainoo poised to stay in final days of window

However, the key decision-makers have blocked any prospective loan, instead telling Mainoo he’s expected to stay and fight for a place under Amorim.

Romano adds that over 15 suitors have established their interest in signing the FA Cup winner, meaning he’d have his pick of the bunch if he were allowed to embark on a new, temporary venture elsewhere.

His contract currently runs until 2027, plus the option of an additional 12 months.

      1. Most Manu fans need every positive to happen now ,we have to fight the through the negatives ,changing managers each time you don’t win 2..3..or 4 games would not make sense,it would always be a start again ..more monies will be spending.
Please we are creating more chances in each game than we did the last 2-3 seasons
        RA will bring us success
A STRIKER MUST BE SELFISH TO BE GREAT
RA STUBBORNNESS IN WHAT HE BELIEVES WILL MAKE HIM THE NEXT BEST MANAGER
        AND BRING BACK GLORY

      2. No I’d say let him go..he’s toxic , a narcissistic and would and has tried to undermine the management team already, something under our former Great manager would of ment QUICK boot out the door regardless of perceived opinion of himself

      3. I agree. The coach is the problem not the players. His system is not fit for Premier league and he has distroyed what I have been watching at old Trafford for long time. Good exciting football with wingers is needed and don’t let this 2nd grade coach take away our home grown players.

        1. Go and watch the champioship or league one instead u dont deserve to be MUFC supporter dosemt seem like u know much about coaching a team like ours.

  1. Keep all our players. Its too late for those who have left. Amorim has to be sacked and the new manager will need the talented players we have but Amorim was sytematically destroying to start a rebuild.

  2. Mainoo is a good assets he should not be allowed to go. I feel mainoo pairing with either Bruno or casemiro is the best, ugarte can be let go. I feel ugarte is not the best for amorim system in the midfield

    1. Yes I think we have to stick with the Manager. At least the bomb squad will be gone. These players will get better. There are only 2 weak positions now in the first team. The goalie & no. 6 position.

  3. Wether the system of the coach or not Mainoo is not worthy of starting eleven yet what he needs now is some minutes it’s because of the situation of the club the 433 or 4231 we have been using before Amorim what was the result then?

  4. We should all get behind Ruben Amorim instead of following the media and demanding he goes. Everyone was pleased when we appointed him now is the time to be brave and get behind him and the team, if we are strong together we will get through this and be better for it. We can not carry on sacking managers come the powers that be get some balls and come out and support him and that will end all the gossip mongering.

    1. Do the right thing get behind the manager and players.change a few things tactics and systems pay 2 winners get the ball in quicker and crosses no fiddling about.

  5. Ruben said from the beginning he knew only one way to play… The geniuses at United should have known immediately he was not the right choice for manager. They knew they would have to spend hundreds of millions to get players that would fit his system. Plus, they have no continuity with their own academy. What a collection of dunderheads.

    1. Amorim has not done anything since he came to the club, instead he dragging the club down. A bad work man always have problem with his tools. United is too big for him to manage. He should go before he takes the club to relegation.

  6. So anyone call Mainoo and ask him?

But no, journalists don’t do that!! They look to see what Romano says and report his words. And Romano asks questions to players? No no no, he talks to his contacts, agents and agents of agents who want specific stories in the papers, and then interests of different kinds pay to destabilise clubs. That’s where the money is…

  7. Man united should not sell Maino, sell Amino for what. Instead they should sell Casemero, Dalot, Ugate and Mount.

  8. Sell Mount and Dogg what are they doing in our Manchester united team. Do not sell Maino

  9. All of you typing “Mainoo should stay and Amorim should go ” can as well stop watching football. Brain is very far from you guys.
Mainoo earns 20k per week , United has offered him an improved 100k earlier this year and he has turned down the contract demanding 200k . He’s not so good to be making such demands at his age. He should be sold.

  10. So if the solution was to sack the manager for failing to give minutes to any talented youth in a few games of a season, then how many managers do you think clubs would recruit in a season. Stop over reacting everything will be fine.

  11. He is the only real no. Eight we have in the club and this lousy coach is benching him that he has no pace and he playing Bruno out of position, this coaching is disrupting development instead of building and what hurts most is that he is doing this to young talents. Playing Amad as a wing back instead of a winger, it’s a shame that Man United hierarchy can’t even find a coach who suits their style of play instead of the coaches bringing their own style of play. These players get confused, imagine how many coaches have coached the club since Ferguson. Amorim has no clue of what to do next to get better results.

  12. Get rid of that clueless and rigid manager Amorim as manager. Amorim must go before he sends this club to relegation.
He,s already ruining the club by letting great players like Garnacho leave for less than they’re worth.

  13. The management Should Try And Sign A Midfielder ; Either Wharton or Stiller or Hjumel And A Keeper Lammen or Whoever
    .
Kobbe Mainoo Should Be Starting Every Game With Either Of The New Midfielder So As To Build Mainoo Confidence Again.

Then Amorin Should Train Man Utd Players On 2 Formations : 4-4-2 & 3-2-3-2 Formations ,

Play 3 Defenders 1st Half When Playing Attacking , & Play 4 Defenders When Playing Defensively
    Thanks

  14. Even Garnacho is also good, why selling our academy graduates. These players are young they need guidance. But but Amorim say is you are not part of my plan. Give good advice to Garnacho please don’t do this, don’t do that he will grow up responsibly. We all make mistakes. For Mainoo the lad is good let him stay. Some of these players have got 2yrs only to Play good football. But for him it’s many years. So please keep him. Garnacho also os supposed to stay. He’s got many years to play, very good winger. What’s needed is advice. We will remember him one day like Mctomminy.

  15. The coach has failed he has only succeeded in clashing and destroying the players and team.Coach should be fired

  16. Mainoo is better than Bruno himself Amorim should go and sit down and stop his one way football style England is bigger than Portugal the three back formation does not have any future in England forget pace play good football abi kini gan

  17. Amorim likes it or not he will be sucked man utd has spent a lot of money and won zero game, this is English football you can’t succeed here with your back three, play 433 formation and see if you can’t win how could you play luck shaw and dorgu all left backs and mboumo with amad at the same time that one thing shaws we shall win nothing, where are the glory days you talked about?

  18. No more letting players go, neither should the coach, staying through a process has become obsolete in this present times, every one is so in a hurry … we got players, create a family, f d media, darn …

  19. Man united needs a Manager not Coach. Remember, united has been doing well under Managers not coaches

  20. Sounds to me they have kidnapped him, I love Man Utd but that’s not on and if I was him I would do shit in training and shit when I’m playing. He doesn’t even want to leave the club he just wants to play football

  21. Do the right thing get behind the manager and players.change a few things tactics and systems pay 2 winners get the ball in quicker and crosses no fiddling about.

  22. Casamero must not go anywhere he has to stay at the club , his maturity and experience is really needed in the changing room.

  23. Amorin is killing the club by persistently playing Bruno and Dalot in wrong wings just to keep them in the first XI team. This is killing the morale of younger players like Mainoo. He should move away from nepotism.

  24. Bloody hell! You bring in a successful coach mid-term last year…he’s had one summer transfer windows (and one fairly useless winter during which major players tend not to move) We still got one of the single worst shot-stoppers in the division, and have yet to make a substantial signing Amorim wants in midfield. It took Fergie ages to get his squad right and regularly winning, so give Amorim the same amount of time to get his players in, bad performers out, and his system in place. I believe we would have been alright had we stuck with Ole, Mourinho, vanGaal but this world of “instant gratification” pushed the club into poor decisions. Flashy name signings while ignoring key positions, uneducated b@stards making decisions on signings, allowing our grounds and training facilities to go to **** to put out the money for the DiMaria, Sanchez, and other expensive failures. Let Amorin have the time and funds to build what he was brought in mid-season to build, and quit trying to toss him on the rubbish pile for yet another manager we won’t back and ultimately toss aside too.

  25. The manager was the wrong man from the outset.. whomever hired him should also be sacked together with the manager. He is a manager who seems to find fault where there is none.
Sack the toxic manager and even without a manager, results will improve.
The Manchester united top management has become a joke for many years already n should be quickly removed.

  26. Amorium may be too eligious on 343. He needs to bear the consequence if it does not work for MU. However, the young players of MU like Garnacho and Mainoo are all too self-centered and inconsiderate. Garnacho wanted to leave because he wad on the starting XI for the Europa final. Mainoo wants to leave because he has to compete with Bruno for the mid-field position. These are spoiled kids. They are all unfinished products and need to prove their values to the team before they can the regular XI. They should see how Solskjær delivered top class performances whenever the team needed him as the substitute. Did he complained at all? He is still one of the legends of the club. Young players need to fight for their spaces instead of just grumbling all day long

  27. Amorin should change the system now , From 3-4-3 , 3-2-4-1 to 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 , MU not fit with the system now . If you want to win the game you must score the goal and not conceded a goal after your score the goal . It’s is always happening. By playing 3 at the back it’s not good enough for the team like MU .
