Having pulled the curtains on his nine-year Everton tenure upon his contract expiry last week, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on the hunt for his next club.
Somewhat unsurprisingly, he’s found himself linked with Manchester United, with co-owners INEOS now floundering to sanction a striker signing before 2025/2026 gets underway in just over a month’s time.
It’s safe to say Calvert-Lewin wasn’t one of the first names on Ruben Amorim’s shortlist heading into the summer, but after being snubbed by both Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres, the former Toffee has reportedly come into consideration at Old Trafford in recent days.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin sets sights on Old Trafford move

Ben Jacobs claims (via The United Stand) that the 28-year-old has now ‘offered himself’ to United and is awaiting clarification over whether they’d want to pursue a move.
Whilst he is a free agent, his high wage demands are said to be one area of concern – along with his injury record. Since 2017/2018, his first full season at Goodison Park, he has missed a total of 103 matches across all competitions (as per Transfermarkt), making him far too unreliable to depend upon for the duration of a campaign.
That being said, the fact that United failed to qualify for any form of European football next term means they’re in for a considerably quieter year, during which they’ll rarely have to plan for midweek fixtures.
If not Calvert-Lewin, who?
Calvert-Lewin would join Rasmus Hojlund as the only out-and-out No.9s at Amorim’s disposal, given Joshua Zirkzee’s preference to drop back and involve himself more in the link-up play.
That’s unless INEOS push to facilitate Hojlund’s departure amid his growing interest from Serie A clubs. Should any transfer come to fruition, it’s been claimed his sale could pave the way for United to pursue Aston Villa talisman Ollie Watkins, who certainly poses as a more exhilarating addition.

Same old dog and pony transfer show but with different stable and kennel personnel making us look desperate with the Mbeumo saga as we were made to look with De Jong and Branthwaite while others snapped up the best of the rest while we ended up with injury prone Mason Mount from Chelsea and now people want to saddle us with Calvert-Lewin and OAP’S Vardy and Wilson just because they are free
Exactly my thoughts too. I rather keep Hojlund if that’s the case cos with Cunha and hopefully Mbeumu more chances and opportunities will come the strikers way. Garnacho should also stay and resurrect his United career. Shut his mouth and save his energy for action on the field. Selling to a premier League rival is not on for me.
I agree with parson say that MNU like to buy plays like this ad ending lots injury like mount
I totally agree with you all. Are we that desperate to sign someone whose goal scoring record is so poor. Man U should do better.
