Despite being heavily linked with a move to Fenerbahce throughout the week, Jadon Sancho is set to see their interest revoked.

In a remarkable turn of events, Jose Mourinho has reportedly instructed his club’s board (as per Turkish outlet Futbol Arena) to axe their pursuit of the Manchester United outcast and target alternative wingers instead.

Mourinho’s exact reasoning hasn’t been revealed, although it’s not difficult to see how the two personalities could clash considerably with Sancho’s work ethic over the last few years.

As well as his lacklustre showings, speculation since the window opened has made it abundantly clear that Sancho is very much prioritising a lucrative financial deal over minutes or a sporting project when assessing his suitors.

He has had the option of negotiating moves to Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus, but when it became clear neither would meet the wages he is demanding, they were made to put their interest on the back burner.

On the other hand, it’s thought Fenerbahce did submit the highest proposal the player has received this summer — even if it didn’t match the ludicrous £300,000-a-week he’s been earning at Old Trafford since 2021. Now that Mourinho has personally intervened, it’s seemingly been vetoed.

Chelsea refuse to sign Sancho despite £25m buy obligation

The 25-year-old Manchester City graduate spent 2024/2025 on loan with Chelsea. While he did show more promise than in a United shirt, his performances still left much to be desired, making it no wonder that the London outfit opted against activating his £25 million buy clause upon the culmination of the term.

In fact, they even went as far as paying a £5m penalty to bypass the agreement and send Sancho back to Manchester, which certainly doesn’t bode well for any player’s ego.

It remains to be seen where United will turn next to try and offload their £73m acquisition, but there is one thing we know for sure: he has no future under Ruben Amorim.

  1. Reading about Sancho from Manchester United. What is wrong with this player .
He does not want to play for United but he seems to have problems with perspective clubs , does he seem to have an attitude problem that know manager or Club wants to work with him .

  2. Sancho needs to get real with himself and knock a couple of zeros off of his demands. I think the best thing for United to do, is rip up his contract and get rid.

  3. Some perspective on all this, I think most clubs rumored across this sale and others were betting United were desperate for PSR-compliance and would cut bad deals.

That doesn’t appear to be the case with June 30th approaching. So now they’re all backing out of their half-hearted offers.
