Now that the transfer window has reopened for the summer, Manchester United are actively working to find a solution to Marcus Rashford’s situation.

Despite overseeing a revived run of form during his loan with Aston Villa, the forward is expected to play no part in Ruben Amorim’s plans ahead of his first full campaign in the Old Trafford dugout.

Alas, the Reds are awaiting suitors to officially come forward and register interest in their academy graduate, whose sale will generate pure profit for the club when the time comes that he departs permanently.

Towards the closing stages of the 2024/2025 term, it was thought Barcelona would reignite their pursuit of Rashford after failing to get a deal over the line in the winter window.

They have since held talks with his agent in Spain, knowing full well the player is more than open to a move to the newly-crowned La Liga champions. Unfortunately for him, Barcelona now look to be prioritising the arrival of Athletic Club starlet Nico Williams and, if that deal fails, they could return for Luis Diaz, having failed with their initial proposal.

Who else is in the mix for Rashford?

That’s not to say there aren’t other high-quality options on the table for the 27-year-old, though.

According to CaughtOffside, Rashford — who ex-manager Erik ten Hag once hailed as an ‘unstoppable’ talent — will have the option of continuing to ply his trade in the Premier League after garnering interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, both of whom secured Champions League qualification for the new season.

One factor delaying his sale is that clubs are unwilling to match his £325,000-a-week wages, so he is reportedly open to taking a pay cut to seal his desired transfer in the coming months.

Assuming he’s now played his final game in red, Rashford will bid farewell to his boyhood club with 426 appearances to his name, as well as 138 goals and 79 assists.

  1. Let us be honest . Marcus Rashford in the right head space and attitude is a seventy or eighty million pound player . So I would make any premier League team pay good money for Rashford . Especially Spurs You get nothing from Daniel Levi when you deal with him

  2. Are Manchester United trying to do too much all at the same time?????
Furthermore the INEOS hierarchy are trying to reset the club’s football ⚽️ fortunes by wanting to correct the huge accumulation of blunders over the 11 seasons, since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
Apparently a holistic approach is lacking in the recruitment of players.
The haphazard recruitment of players from rival clubs has done the most harm and giving Erik ten Hag a free run at recruiting Ajax and other Dutch 🇳🇱 club players have damaged the club’s efforts tremendously to rise from the ashes.
Hopefully Ruben Amorim could play his “magic”with his preferred recruitment expertise and achieve better results, hopefully in the next 2-3 seasons and reach the promised land.
During Manchester United’s slumber, many top rival teams have achieved success, so now Ruben Amorim and Sir Jim 🐀cliffe’s INEOS HIERARCHY should work together to achieve the long overdue success that the club and the fans have been denied and deprived off during this long 21 years.
