Manchester United must put their effort into signing Fiorentina bomber Moise Kean after missing out on Liam Delap.
The Red Devils have been staunchly searching the market for a new centre-forward, as the fanbase has seen enough of Rasmus Hojlund.
In recent weeks, Delap emerged as the favourite candidate for the role, as INEOS identified him as a young and affordable profile thanks to a £30 million release clause that became valid following Ipswich Town’s relegation.
While the 22-year-old certainly did well in his first full Premier League campaign, considering the tough circumstances, many would argue he hasn’t done enough to warrant a place at a top club.
Liam Delap Chooses Chelsea over United
Moreover, who’s to say the young Englishman has what it takes to withstand the insurmountable pressure that accompanies a move to Old Trafford?
After all, we’ve see more experienced and prolific profiles struggle in this regard. Hence, a striker with only 12 goals to his Premier League resume is far from a guaranteed investment.
Therefore, no Man Utd supporter will be weeping over Delap’s decision to join Chelsea, as reported by David Ornstein in recent hours.
This also shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Man City youth product had already expressed his desire to play European football, something that Man Utd cannot afford.
Nevertheless, missing out on Delap can truly be a blessing in disguise for the Red Devils, even if it forces them to spend a slightly higher figure.
Why Man United should go after Moise Kean

In recent days, Man Utd have been linked with Fiorentina’s Kean, a striker with an insatiable thirst for goal, and a great desire to redeem his reputation in England after succeeding on this front in Italy.
The 25-year-old bounced back from an underwhelming second spell at Juventus but enjoyed his best season thus far. He led the Viola’s charge by scoring 25 goals in all competitions, including the decisive late strike that secured European football next season.
Stats in 24/25 | Appearnaces | Goals | Assists |
Moise Kean | 44 | 25 | 3 |
Liam Delap | 40 | 12 | 2 |
Rasmus Hojlund | 52 | 10 | 4 |
Joshua Zirkzee | 49 | 7 | 3 |
Premier League fans might remember Kean as the young striker who failed to cut it at Everton in the 2019/20 season, but he was a mere youngster at the time who was probably shell-shocked by the drastic cultural change.
But in 2025, a mature Kean has emerged as one of the most terrifying attacking forces in Italian football, and has been hailed as a ‘scoring sensation’. His unbelievable strength allows him to ward off his marker with the ball at his feet, while his pace often leaves his chasers in the dust.
Hence, the Italy international has all that it takes to succeed in English football, so all that it takes is a leap of faith from United who can lure him to Old Trafford by activating his £43.5 million release clause.
His release clause is way overpriced- see comments on the last Moise Kean article (linked to above).
Where is this inexplicable push for Moise Kean coming from? Is Stretty News getting paid by his agent or something?
The guy has performed well this season in Italy. And truly if you watch him, he has power, strength, pace and real desire to score goals. Let him come to United
If only!

Fair enough. I guess we all have our favourites.
