Manchester United insider Henry Winter claims Ruben Amorim has been hiding the real reasons that promoted him to drop Marcus Rashford.

The England international hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since being omitted from the matchday squad against Man City in December, while the Portuguese manager has been constantly interrogated on the matter.

Amorim has finally delivered his bluntest answer in the aftermath of Sunday’s victory over Fulham, saying he’d rather field his 63-year-old goalkeeper’s coach instead of Rashfor or any other player who is showing a lack of effort in training.

The 39-year-old also insisted that Rashford hasn’t showcased any improvement on that front, so the reasons behind his omission still stand.

Nevertheless, British journalist Henry Winter suggests an alternative theory. He believes the Rashford is doing his bit in training, but Amorim considers the player inapt to his 3-4-2-1 tactical system, while the management would be happy to get rid of one of their highest earners (£315,000 per week).

“My understanding is that Marcus Rashford is training hard but the direction of travel for the last few months has been that Rashford, for tactical and financial reasons, needs to move on,” said Winter during his appearance on the Transfer Show via Sky Sports.

“Tactically, he doesn’t fit into the template that Ruben Amorim has in 3-4-2-1. Also for financial reasons, Rashford is on a lot of money and for Amorim to invest in the squad and for the type of players he wants to fit the 3-4-2-1, they need to move some players out.”

It should also be noted that Winter was the journalist who made the infamous interview with Rashford a few days following his initial squad expulsion. This chat included some controversial statements on the player’s behalf, as he revealed his desire to start a new career chapter.

  1. The english media always has a way of making managers bad especially foreign managers. If SAF was Manutd manager, would Rashford still be playing for manchester united? No manager wants negative players playing for him. Jose Mourinho pointed out the bad influence in the team n it turn out he was right. Martial, Rashford, Shaw need to move on as is Casemiro. They no longer deserve to be donning on the Red shirt..and if it was so easy to shift Merson Greenwood coz a clique of individuals wanted him out, then its time Rashford to leave.

    1. If they can’t get the managers age correct how good is the research into the article? Rashford never apologized for going on the lash in Belfast, never said goodbye or thanked ten Hag for steaking by Rashford, but yet can release all these statements about all his charity work and wanting a new challenge or whatever suits him at that time. Plenty of other managers apparently have said that they have had the same issues with Rashford, ole said Rashford needed to focus on his football and then had to apologize later for that statement. Player power at its best

  3. Rashford hasn’t performed at a decent and consistent level for two years. Ask any United fan , ask Gareth Southgate. This isn’t an Amorim problem this is solely a Rashford issue which has been going on long before Amorim arrived.

  4. Someone needs to tell Henry Winter that this is not what journalism professors mean by protecting your sources.

  5. Inept…

Rashford would be perfect for a false 10 role coming fron the left but he’s too lazy and weak to run back and defend. He prefers to maintain the Pogba trot.
