Manchester United and Napoli have been trying to reach an agreement that would see Alejandro Garnacho head to Serie A, but thus far to no avail.
The 20-year-old lost his starting berth following the departure of Erik ten Hag who considered him among his key players. His captain Bruno captain also described him as a special player and one of the club’s difference-makers.
On the contrary, Ruben Amorim is opting for Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo in the two slots behind the lone striker in his 3-4-2-1 formation. Therefore, the Argentine is no longer considered ‘unsellable’ as he once was, especially with the club failing to make progress in the contract negotiations with his entourage.
In recent weeks, Napoli has emerged as a potential destination for the young winger, identifying him as their preferred profile to replace Khvicha Kvaratakhelia who completed a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain last week.
But while Man Utd officials have been in Italy to discuss a deal with their Italian counterparts, the two parties are still separated by a considerable gap.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport via TuttoMercatoWeb, Napoli are refusing to raise their €50 million plus bonuses offer, while the Red Devils are holding out for at least €60 million.

The Roman newspaper notes that United’s Financial Fair Play difficulties could force them to negotiate, but for now, they remain stubborn on their current stance, having already decreased their original asking price of €75 million.
Moreover, the source adds that Napoli have already found themselves an alternative target in the shape of Karim Adeyemi. So if they manage to make a breakthrough in their talks with Borussia Dortmund and the player, they could completely abandon their pursuit of Garnacho.
Well it looks like Utd have not got any better at transfers. We have a 50 million offer for a player who wants to leave. Take the money and buy Dorku or Osihmen. Hopefully we can get rid of Rashford, Casemiro and Antony in this window. Stop trying to play hard ball as we don’t have the leverage.
Very true
I must agree
Whenever I read the news about selling ganache’s I feel more pain.
The club is not doing well and yet they want to sell the best player at this moment what is wrong with them
Ridiculous to sell garnacho he is everything a manu player should be in a few years We will get 100m for him
What player wants to leave? Not Gonatcho that’s for sure it’s Glazers and ineos who want to sell our young talent..The owners are leeches
Take the money for Garnacho and bring in Dorgu and Osimhen. What are Ineos at. They are as bad as Woodward and Co.
By selling Garnacho to Napoli it gives us a chance to get a top top striker at a cut rate in Osimhen. We can still do a deal for Dorgu. No trainer, but Ineos are still pennypinching.
Get the money and pay Leecce fast and sell Casimiro . Bring Osimeni
So Mount 55 million and dosnt play. Garno 50 million and the potential to be fantastic. yeah make ssense.. no wonder utd have sunk so low.. Glazers/Ineos OUT
Thank u so much dear
If napoli are not going to pay 60 million let them leave because if garnacho was in napoli and man utd want to sign him, napoli will not sell him lease tham 85 million
If napoli are not going to pay 60 million let them leave because if garnacho was in napoli and man utd want to sign him, napoli will not sell him lease tham 85 million
Very true, 60m for garn is too little
If napoli are not going to pay 60 million let them leave because if garnacho was in napoli and man utd want to sign him, napoli will not sell him lease tham 85 million
Aplayer who want to leave like garnacho just shell and buy a good player to replace him
Man United should not sell Garnacho until they buy a striker or a very good left full back.I do not know what is delaying Rashford and Casemiro sales. Both of them should be sold first.
Man U need to make the best use of this January transfer window. Take some hard decisions and live with it. Period
Man u should not sell a good player like garnacho they should forcus about cassemiro and rashford
Stop playing hardball when u r not in a strong bargaining position!
Man Utd should sale the likes of Rashford, Anthony,Casemiro,( malacia and Luke Shaw) for their injuries
Stop selling Garna is still young and has a lot of potential rather sell Casimero and Mount
