Marcus Rashford has opened the scoring in Ruben Amorim’s first-ever game in game against Ipswich Town.

He had 1 Premier League goal in his first 11 matches this season, but Rashford has scored in the first two minutes under Amorim.

The question is whether this is the new shape to expect from United?

Amad Diallo bursts forward from his wing-back role to deliver a stunning cross for Rashford to convert.

The fans were quick to sing Ruben Amorim’s name and he decision to play Amad as a wing back and Rashford as his centre-forward has paid off big time.

This wasn’t the start to the game Ipswich would have wanted, but they were left stunned by United’s attack. It’s not often you could say that about us this season when we’ve usually looked blunt up front apart from moments of brilliance from Alejandro Garnacho.

While United continue to threaten Ipswich, in what could be a long afternoon for the Tractor Boys, Rashford is beginning a defining chapter of his career.

It’s now or never for the forward who has started in the best possible way under Amorim.

As a centre forward, it raises questions about whether Rasmus Hojlund will lose his place in the squad or if Joshua Zirkzee slips further down the pecking order?
