Reports suggest that some Manchester United officials were Lisbon bound to conduct talks over a deal for Ruben Amorim, but Mark Ogden from ESPN has heard that Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth, and Jason Wilcox are not in Portugal as things stand.
Talks are still underway between Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon to complete a deal that would see Amorim manage outside of Portugal for the first time in his career, after enjoying success in his homeland.
There an no unexpected issues as United try to find a way to waive the 30-day notice period in Amorim’s contract so that he can take charge of the team before Sunday’s league clash against Chelsea. That will likely take an extra payment on top of his termination clause.
“Berrera, Ashworth and Wilcox are not in Lisbon to negotiate with Sporting over Amorim, but discussions ongoing,” Ogden posted on X. “No unexpected issues, just a game of patience until a deal gets done.”

That game of patience could run on and mean Ruud van Nistelrooy remains caretaker boss until the weekend. He has already hinted that he will honour the role for however long he is needed.
The wait goes on for Ruben Amorim
Now that everyone knows Amorim is the desired man for the job, we’re all waiting impatiently for the official announcement.
Hopefully it can get done in the next day or two and Amorim can take charge of the the team against Chelsea, but it’s a big game to step into for his first against a top four rival.
Albeit one running away from us in the race for Champions League football.
It would take a huge turnaround from Amorim’s reds to secure that at this stage as United sit 14th in the Premier League table heading in November.
