Erik ten Hag given definitive Man Utd sack deadline as ‘genius’ replacement offered three-year deal

Erik ten Hag has been given a new Manchester United sack deadline, just days after it emerged another manager had been approached by INEOS.

There was a lot of talk regarding Ten Hag’s future as manager during the previous international break. It’s likely to continue when the November internationals come around unless United’s results on the pitch improve.

United returned from the previous round of internationals by getting back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Brentford. Sadly, the Reds were unable to build on that when they drew against Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

A report from The Times claims that Ten Hag has been given a new deadline with the next five matches likely to have an impact on his future.

Ten Hag is still under the spotlight after winning just three of his opening eight Premier League games, to leave United positioned 12th in the league table.

United need a quick turnaround to climb up the Premier League and to save their European campaign, after three consecutive draws in the Europa League.

According to a report from InterLive this week, Simone Inzaghi has already reached an agreement with INEOS to succeed Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

The Inter Milan boss will apparently wait until the end of the season to sign a three-year deal with United.

None of the media outlets in the UK have recited the news, so it’s clearly come from sources in Italy – perhaps on Inzaghi’s side.

The report suggest that the Italian has “given his green light” after a “couple of video conferences with the board”.

The 48-year-old has been at the San Siro for three years, winning the Scudetto, two Coppa Italia trophies and reaching the Champions League final in 2023.

Premier League considers Inzaghi a ‘genius’

In March, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry called Inzaghi ‘a genius’ after Inter scored an extraordinary goal against Bologna in Serie A.

“It is quite often said that strikers cannot be good managers, but he defies the logic. The way he sets up his teams is second to none,” Henry told CBS Sports, as quoted by Football Italia.

“When a team is trying to build out from the back, the wing-backs press forward, but then they retreat and that is where they are comfortable.

“Now you can see it is virtually impossible to play inside them. They are ready for you. They also have to defend lower and can do 5-3-2, we can see Barella try to close the gap. They don’t have to try to play cute, with two strikers at the top, they can combine straight away.”

Henry added: “Wing-back to wing-back, we’ve seen it before, Antonio Conte did it, they do it better. But what I’ve never seen before is centre-back to centre-back, they did it this weekend! I’ve never seen from open play, 0-0 away from home, a left centre-back crossing for the right centre-back to score a goal.

“I’ve never seen that, this guy obviously is a genius.”

  1. Inzaghi is welcome to united if ten hag cannot overturn the fortunes of Manutd because they have been abysmal and pathetic to watch.

  2. A traffic Bollard could do better than ten Hag, how he manages to alienate and confuse players is alarming. I think he is looking for the sack, trying very hard to achieve it, after all, for him it will be a good pay day.

  3. Radcliffe are squarely t9 be blamed for granting tenhag a longer stay, if he can ditch Sir Alex Ferguson why not this clown of a coach, Radcliffe must publicly state whate Spell tenhag have on him, hopefully united will lose again on Sunday then just maybe clueless Radcliffe can ditch him

  4. Inzaghi is considered a good coach in Italy but Italian football is not in same class of the premier league. If you look at the managers Man. they were good with the exception of Moues. TH had a good first season and club is changing. Does one really think it’s the managers or is there something else that’s the problem. I think there’s something we not being informed of. On a light note Arsenal lost yet there’s no noise made about Arteta and his tactics yet every game Man play these ex legends and British media have so much to say and this is only at Man Utd. I maybe wrong but I believe there’s a conspiracy to get TH sacked but I can almost garuantee that a new manager will face the same problems

    1. Interesting thoughts, Clintan. OGS, Van Gaal, & ETH all successful in their own Countries; not so good in English Premier. And Antony, Di Maria, Sancho also failed to live up to the good reputations with which they arrived. “Something else that’s the problem” ? Think INEOS would pay big money to find out if that’s the case. But I don’t think there’s any Media conspiracy to have ETH sacked, it’s just that United are big news, no matter what happens. Our name represents click-bait, huge headlines, and a boon to Columnists with space to fill. They’ll be loving the current will-they-won’t-they? regarding INEOS, and also the chances to chunter on when the team plays badly. They don’t want that to change any time soon.

    2. Completely agree with you
However fans tends to believe that the glazers ate still the big boss nut hiding behind a new strategy
Manu is in progress but still need more players on the bench to fill.tge injury gaps

  5. The blame on Manchester United’s malaise must fall on Sir Jim 🐀cliffe’s shoulders and his supposedly stellar cast in the hierarchy,
Why this dragging of the feet and procrastination in getting rid of Erik ten Hag.
With only the 9th game to be played, another defeat or draw against West Ham United away is not going to help the club move up one bit. Depending on results elsewhere , they could sink further and may hover close to mid-table.
Is that what Sir Jim Ratcliffe promised ?????
Since the beginning of this season the team’s performance is anything but good and the only culprit is Erik ten Hag who is clueless, totally inept and unable to turn the fortunes of the team, however he tries.
Please put him out of his misery and address the angst and heartbreak of the fans at home and world-wide.

    1. Try blaming the players that step onto the pitch and get off the ETH for the sack bandwagon also take into account the amount of injuries we have had and still getting yet he’s still won a couple of trophies and blaming sir Jim is s absolutely pathetic as well we’re 9 games into the season with pretty much a new squad that needs to gel be a real supporter and get behind the team no matter what because everyone calling for his head on a block doesn’t help that’s been the problem since sir Alex left everyone is to quick to want to get the next manager sacked it’s pathetic

  6. Let him go nothing good is coming from him we are tired seeing him , he don’t even have style of play so he should go.

  7. To the moaners groaners the Glazers were the downfall of manu.Sir Alex Ferguson would have struggled with the Ieneos set up.Fergie didn’t need all these idiots on board he had decent Scouts world wide.the millions Ineos has spent hiring this board could have helped getting proven stricken and couple of decent defenders.so don’t. Blame ETH.

  8. Even though ETH loses all his matches, Man U will definitely retain him. Wether he does well or not, the current management don’t care.
