Norway full-back David Moller Wolfe is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea.
Yes, that’s right. Manchester United are being linked with another player making a name for himself in the Eredivisie.
The 22-year-old defender plays for AZ Alkmaar and it is understood that he has a list of admirers building in the Premier League.
Moller Wolfe will hope that he is the next Norwegian star to take the Premier League by storm after Man City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard.
The full-back has risen to prominence since leaving SK Brann in July 2023 for AZ Alkmaar, and he has since gone on to perform at a high level consistently.
That is what Moller Wolfe needs to do to attract the top teams.
According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United and Chelsea are tracking Moller Wolfe ahead of the winter transfer window.
A separate report from Fichajes claims the defender is likely to cost between €12-15m. That wouldn’t break the bank for either United or Chelsea and it is a deal that could be done midseason when the transfer window opens again.
Moller Wolfe would fill a hole at Manchester United
United’s interest in Moller Wolfe is understandable. The Reds are in the market for a left-back as they wait on Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia to return from long-term injuries.
Erik ten Hag has had to start the season with Diogo Dalot at left-back, while usually opting to play new signing Noussair Mazraoui on the opposite flank.
Chelsea also find themselves in a situation where they are trying to offload Ben Chilwell. It’s a possibility that they could see Moller Wolfe as a potential upgrade for the English defender.
