AC Milan interested in 27 y/o midfielder despite underwhelming spell at Manchester United

Sofyan Amrabat joined Manchester United on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, but the Morocco international failed to impress enough to warrant a contract at the club when his temporary deal expires.

To his credit, Amrabat has played several different roles for United this season – from left-back to central midfield – but while he is versatile in his range of qualities, I’d argue he’s a master of none.

The 27-year-old has started 13 times for United in all competitions.

Whenever Amrabat sprints it looks like he’s tackling himself. That is not a good look for a defensive midfielder in the Premier League, but it sounds like he’s done enough to attract interest from other top clubs in Italy.

While Barcelona and Juventus made failed attempts to sign the Moroccan in January, Tuttosport (H/t Milan News) believes AC Milan could join the race for his signature in the summer.

Amrabat could also return to Fiorentina.

Let us know in the comments section if you think we are being harsh on Amrabat. Could he prove us wrong with a second season at Old Trafford?
