Rasmus Hojlund speaks out after controversy surrounding recent interview

Rasmus Hojlund has spoken out for the first time after the forward was interviewed by a fan channel organisation, with the decision to grant the publication in question an interview with one of Manchester United’s most prominent players questioned by supporters.

In the days after it was revealed that Hojlund had conducted an interview with the publication, it emerged that Hojlund understood why some of his team-mates may have been disgruntled by the the decision to be interviewed by the publication but had no intention of causing any harm.

There have even been claims that Hojlund had been asked to not do any interviews going forward but speaking recently, the Danish international has squashed any suggestions that he has been banned from doing interviews.

Nothing has been said to be so it is fake news,” Hojlund told Danish outlet Tipsbladet, via Sport Witness.

“I haven’t read all of that, but it’s certainly not true that something has been said to me that I may not do an interview with this or that fan media.”

Obviously, Hojlund will pay little attention to what is written on the backpages but it’s an interesting one to follow. He is not the only player to have been criticised for collaborating with the publication in question.

On the pitch, there is no questioning that he is doing everything right. Hojlund made his highly anticipated return from injury at the weekend in the 4-3 win over Liverpool.

After the international break, he will have the chance to score for a seventh Premier League match in a row, which would take him one game closer to the record set by Jamie Vardy, who scored in 11 straight games in 2015.
