Erik ten Hag not concerned about PSG and Rashford rumours

Erik ten Hag has rejected the possibility of Manchester United cashing in on Marcus Rashford after offering the England star a new £300,000-a-week deal last summer.

The whole idea is absurd. Rashford was handed a bumper deal after scoring an incredible tally of 30 goals across all competitions last season.

Since then he has struggled for form and there have been suggestions that long-term admirers Paris Saint-Germain are keen to bring him to Ligue 1, as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

With Rashford being an academy star, any deal would be even more attractive in terms of allowing the club to keep 100% of the profit, but Ten Hag is not looking at it that way.

Speaking ahead of United’s FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, Ten Hag told reporters (via Daily Mail): “We did not sign him last season for five years with the intention to sell him now.

“He should be part of this project. It is not a subject we talk about.”

Ten Hag has stood by Rashford this season, despite the England international’s poor form on the pitch.

It is clear that the manager believes his forward is going through a difficult period, so hopefully we can get him to his best between now and the remainder of the campaign.
