‘He’d really love to…’: Romano reveals in-form United man’s hopes for permanent move this summer

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Jadon Sancho hopes to make his Borussia Dortmund loan a permanent transfer this summer.

The Manchester United loanee came in clutch for the German outfit last night when he netted an impressive, inch-perfect strike inside the opening three minutes of the last-16 clash to give Dortmund one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Sancho was then hooked in the closing stages of the tie and limped off with what can only be categorised as a knock at this moment in time, being replaced by ex-skipper Marco Reus. He went on to extend their lead in the fifth minute of injury time, sealing a 3-1 aggregate win against PSV and ensuring his side’s progression to the next stage of the competition.

Across his first 10 appearances in the black and yellow of his former club, Sancho has registered two goals and two assists in all competitions.

Sancho ready to cut ties with United

Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter (X) to react to the 23-year-old’s contribution, claiming that ‘he’d really love to stay’ at the Signal Iduna Park beyond this season.

There is no buy option included in the terms of his loan contract, but it’s thought that he has no future at United while Erik ten Hag remains in the dugout. The club will presumably look to shift him in the next window and will hope to recuperate as much as possible of the £73 million fee they paid for him.
