Borussia Dortmund reluctant to meet Jadon Sancho’s asking price

A lot has been written about Jadon Sancho in the past year – most of the stuff negative rather than positive.

The Manchester United winger returned to Borussia Dortmund on a short-term loan in January, but there was little hope – from where we’re sat – that he’d rejuvenate his career after being exiled from Erik ten Hag’s side following a high-profile dispute.

While Dortmund want to bring back Sancho permanently, reports in Germany state that United’s transfer demands could be an issue for the Bundesliga club. Yes, the same club that sanctioned the England international’s £73 million transfer to Old Trafford three years ago.

Sky Sports Germany claim United want at least £40m for Sancho, who failed to make any impact during his time at the club, but Dortmund are reluctant to spend that amount on the player.

Sancho is under contract at United until 2026 and I don’t think many fans will want him to return in the summer. Nobody in the right mind would want him back given how he played and behaved.

We can expect Dortmund to play the long game in an attempt to lower Sancho’s fee even further.

United need to take a financial hit on the winger either way because he remains one of the highest earners at the club.

Let us know in the comment section if you will be wanting Sancho back at United at the end of the season.
