Manchester United star growing in confidence makes Premier League Team of the Week

With another weekend of Premier League action behind us, three points and another dismal performance to reflect on, it is time to look at whether any of the Manchester United players were considered standout performers from gameweek 28.

Nobody that watched our 2-0 win over Everton on Sunday would be surprised that the BBC didn’t name one United player in their Premier League Team of the Week.

However, that selection is picked by Garth Crooks on a weekly basis.

WhoScored provide their own Premier League Team of the Week, which is selection through a more statistical eye, and they have selected one United player this week.

United goalkeeper Andre Onana kept an eight clean sheet of the season in Saturday’s victory over Everton. He made six saves against the Toffees on top of two successful high claims to record a WhoScored match rating of 8.23.

WhoScored Premier League Team of the Week: Onana; White; Romero, Robinson; Quattara; Christie, Rice; Palmer, Johnson; Fofana, Min-Son.

Onana now looks like a keeper that is playing with confidence and the critics are slowly fading in the background.

We’ve seen a different player since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations and we must remember that he hasn’t had a settled back four to play in behind all season.
