Manchester United scout Belgian midfielder as club registers interest

Manchester United regularly send scouts out to watch players across Europe’s biggest leagues and now, it is being reported that United scouts have been to watch Belgian midfielder Mandela Keita.

Keita, a highly-rated 21-year-old midfielder, is currently on loan at Belgian giants Royal Antwerp from OH Leuven. There is, however, a clause in the loan agreement that will see Keita join Antwerp permanently at the end of this campaign.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, via Sport Witness, United have sent scouts out to watch Keita play on more than one occasion and interest in the Belgian star is rising.

As per the report, the list of clubs interested in Keita is growing and there are other Premier League clubs in the fold too, with West Ham and Nottingham Forest named as potential suitors.

It’s also claimed that the Reds have reached out to the player’s agent to gain additional information about the Belgian but no official move has been made yet.

One thing’s certain this summer and that’s a midfield overall – how Erik ten Hag and the new INEOS management decide to go about things remains to be seen.

Casemiro and Scott McTominay’s futures at the club are uncertain and Sofyan Amrabat is almost certain to return to Fiorentina despite United holding the option to make that move permanent.

Christian Eriksen will also have just one year remaining on his contract and there is no guarantee he will remain at the club beyond the summer.
