‘Very good’: Forest boss names which United player is a ‘solution’ to Hojlund’s absence

Nottingham Forest host Manchester United on Wednesday evening in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Both sides enter the clash on the back of losses, with the Midlands outfit sustaining a 4-2 away defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, while the Red Devils fell to a dismal 2-1 home loss against Fulham.

The Cup marks United’s only prospect of silverware for the remainder of the season after exiting the Champions League at the group stage and the Carabao Cup in the Round of 16. Another season without a trophy would only heap further pressure on the shoulders of Erik ten Hag, who is looking to make a lasting impression on new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Alas, he enters tomorrow’s tie with an extensive list of injury woes and must get the job done without prolific frontman Rasmus Hojlund. The side’s only goal of last Saturday’s clash came through Harry Maguire, with the attackers proving far from clinical yet again.

Regarding the opposition’s growing collection of absentees, Nuno Espirito Santo said: “They are still a very good team, a very good squad. This is what we have to think, we are going to face a tough opponent on Wednesday night.

“They have very good solutions, [Marcus] Rashford… they have very good attacking players that can make the position.”
