Manchester United have been dealt a massive blow ahead of Fulham’s visit to Old Trafford on Saturday, with star striker Rasmus Hojlund ruled out of the match due to a muscle injury.

A statement from Manchester United on Friday afternoon states that Hojlund faces two to three weeks on the absentee list as a result.

The club did not release any details behind the injury – other than it’s muscular – but we will be hearing from Erik ten Hag when he holds his press conference later this afternoon.

Hojlund has been in goalscoring form and this injury could not have come at a worse time, with the striker having scored in his last six consecutive league matches and becoming the youngest player in Premier League history to do so.

United finally appear to be gaining momentum in the race for top four and now fans will wonder where the goals are going to come from…

Hojlund is due to miss Fulham at home, Forest away, Man City away, Everton at home and either Sheffield United at home or the FA Cup quarter-final if he is out for three weeks.

Alejandro Garnacho has an eye for goal, but it’s wrong to be so overreliant on such a young player. Will Marcus Rashford stand up? The same could be said for Antony.

It’s also a concern that United keep suffering muscular injuries. Luke Shaw was another this week – ruled out for a few months.

We would like to wish Hojlund a quick and productive recovery.
