Scott McTominay is the flavour of the month after his match winner against Aston Villa on Sunday.

It won’t come as a surprise to anyone to hear that McTominay is a level headed professional because that has been the case throughout his career.

The Scotland international didn’t get carried away after his headed winner either.

McTominay was one of the first players out on the grass on Monday morning as Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff put the squad through their paces.

A two-hour recovery session took place at Carrington.

According to the Daily Mail, McTominay made the manager smile by setting the standards throughout the training session.

Benni McCarthy took shooting practice and we can only hope it helps keep our forward playing in goalscoring form for the rest of the season.

With Rasmus Hojlund scoring most weeks, it’s crucial that players in other positions – such as midfield – chip in with the goals too.

That is why McTominay is getting minutes in the team.
