Graeme Souness has named Man United player who would be “fantastic” for Liverpool or Man City

Speaking about Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Graeme Souness stated that his admiration for the player is limited to his skill as a footballer.

This season, Fernandes has received criticism on several occasions. Some supporters have been enraged with him due to his body language and frequent criticism of the officials, and as United have struggled at times, those cries have become louder.

To be fair, Fernandes is still a vital member of Erik ten Hag’s team and is frequently one of United’s best players when things get tight.

The Portuguese international is someone who can create or score from anywhere as he has shown several times in his United career.

Since joining the club, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he has been the best player at the club and by some distance.

Graeme Souness, former Liverpool player, stated in an interview with TalkSPORT that the United player might be very successful for a team like Manchester City or Liverpool.

Speaking on the £47 million Manchester United captain on TalkSPORT, Souness acknowledged that despite sometimes having bad behavior, Fernandes is still a quality player.

“He is a player. I don’t think he’s a captain. In terms of quality if he played for Liverpool or if he played for City he would be a fantastic player. We would not be having this conversation. All this, shaking the head is majorly disappointing. He wouldn’t be losing as many games [at Liverpool or City] and he wouldn’t be so frustrated. But I accept his body language isn’t great at times and I was majorly disappointed of him in the 7-0 defeat at Anfield last year when he just stopped running back,” Souness said.

Fernandes’ outbursts are understandable given his obvious desire to win and his abundance of talent in the final third.

The Portugal star will be essential if United are to succeed this season.
