Manchester United attacker’s January exit put on ice after clubs hit roadblock in wage negotiations

Manchester United forward Facundo Pellistri’s prospective loan move to Granada has been put on ice for the time being.

The Uruguayan international had garnered interest from a host of clubs including Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven, LA Galaxy and Granada, with the player choosing to join the latter.

However, the La Liga outfit are only willing to contribute a portion of Pellistri’s £20,000-a-week salary, according to Mail Sport. This has caused a roadblock in negotiations between the two clubs despite the winger being keen on the move – though talks haven’t drawn to a close just yet.

Reds looking to prevent Carrington graduate’s exit

Pellistri’s potential exit could leave Erik ten Hag short of options in attack, especially during a season in which United have faced a debilitating injury crisis. The report adds that the board are actively trying to tie down youngster Omari Forson to a new deal after he made his debut in the FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic.

19-year-old Forson has received approaches from rival clubs ahead of his contract expiration in the summer.
