Borussia Dortmund chief echoes Ralf Rangnick’s comments on Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho sealed a controversial return to Borussia Dortmund earlier this week, with the young Englishman ending a six-month-long misery at Manchester United after he fell out with manager Erik ten Hag.

Sancho has not featured for the club since the first month of the season after a public dispute with the manager and since then, the winger has been banished from first-team training and dining with his team-mates.

Ten Hag showed lenience with Sancho in his first campaign, even offering the 23-year-old some time away from football to focus on his fitness and other aspects.

That patience eventually ran out and there was no option left but to exclude him from the plans. Now, he will spend the remaining six months of the season back at Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking after the move was confirmed, former United interim boss Ralf Rangnick claimed that over his six months in charge at Old Trafford, he never experienced any attitude problems with Sancho.

Now, Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke has echoed those remarks, claiming the former Manchester City youngster has no problems with his discipline.

“Jadon has no problem with discipline,” he is quoted as saying by France24. “I don’t know who thought that up.

“The lad has a bit of a problem with his internal clock and can be a bit late from time to time.”

It’s unlikely that Ten Hag’s issue with Sancho is just his poor timekeeping. Regardless, it’s certainly going to be an interesting couple of months.
United will be hoping that Sancho returns to the form that convinced the club to go all out for his signature two-and-a-half years ago and thus raising his value.
