Erik ten Hag can surpass Sir Alex Ferguson record by beating Tottenham

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag appears to be under pressure at the moment as new owners are closely monitoring everything at Old Trafford.

All season long, United have been one of the most inconsistent and uninspiring teams in the Premier League.

With elimination from the Champions League and the Carabao Cup and poor position in the league, Ten Hag’s season appears to have been a complete bust, but the same cannot be said of his time at Old Trafford.

The Dutch manager now has a chance to surpass Sir Alex Ferguson in terms of win percentage.

Ten Hag’s win percentage as the Manchester United manager is at 59.3%. At the time of his retirement, Sir Alex had a 59.7% win percentage, according to Sky Sports.

With a victory versus Tottenham Hotspur, the Dutchman will surpass Sir Alex Ferguson. Even though Ten Hag’s tenure as manager has been shaky and not up to the standards of the club, it appears that he has accomplished more than most people realize.

While this is impressive from ten Hag, the difference is he has managed only 83 games for the club while legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson took charge of more than 1500 games.

Not only that, Sir Alex’s team was the dominant force in world football during his reign with the club consistently winning trophies and seriously competing for them. ten Hag’s time at Old Trafford has only given the club success in the Carabao Cup.

Sunday’s game against Spurs will be crucial for both the teams but more so for ten Hag, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to attend the game.
