Bologna won’t sell Manchester United and Arsenal target in January

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been strongly linked with Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

Reports from FootballTransfers claim the Serie A outfit are reluctant to sell the player in January.

The article from Steve Kay explains that prising Zirkzee away from Bologna midway through the season would be a significant challenge. It would require a substantial fee and that means most suitors will prefer to wait until the summer, which will also give them more time to track the forward.

Zirzkee is renowned as an elegant, silky centre-forward who has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic by some.

While the article in question seems to focus on Arsenal’s interest, Zirkzee has been linked with a move to United too.

The initial reports came two weeks ago from The Metro, suggesting United had begun targeting Zirkzee for a potential January approach, but now that seems to be completely off the cards.

A separate report from Sport1 claims there is interest from United in the £35 million-rated Dutchman.

Let us know if you think United should be keeping an eye on Zirkzee. He has made 19 appearances in Serie A this season, scoring 7 goals and registering a further 2 assists.
