Hibernian confident of keeping Manchester United loanee for the rest of the season

Will Fish is understood to be enjoying his second loan stint with Hibernian this season.

It works both ways because Hibs are keen for Fish to stay for the remainder of the season and do not want Manchester United to activate the break clause in his loan contract.

Fish joined Hibs on a second-long loan in the summer, but every academy player who leaves United on loan has a recall break clause that can be activated after six months.

United have already decided to recall one player with young striker Charlie McNeill returning from Stevenage earlier this week. It made perfect sense because McNeill had not been getting the amount of game time as hoped.

However, that is not the case for Fish. A report from the Manchester Evening News states that coaches at United are delighted with his development and progress in Scotland.

As a result, Hibs are confident that United won’t activate the break clause in Fish’s deal.

Fish is thriving and it would be counterproductive to take him away from that environment right now.

  1. As a Hibs fan, got to say Man Utd have a cracking prospect on their hands, he’s been excellent for us.

Sadly we lack a partner for him and are active in the transfer market.

He played well alongside Club legend Paul Hanlon last season, you could see Will learning from him.

Sadly Paul isn’t getting any younger and his form has been poor.

Our other centre back Rocky is REALLY erratic, and you can see him affecting Will.

Hopefully we can sort it this window
