Manchester United have decided to cut short Sergio Reguilon’s loan because Erik ten Hag has left-backs regaining fitness.
As a result, Reguilon will return to Tottenham. The 27-year-old made 12 appearances for United this season after joining in September.
Ten Hag took Reguilon on loan due to the fact he was without left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia due to long-term injuries. Shaw has since returned to action, although he is out with a slight injury, and Malacia will be back soon.
Reguilon has took to Twitter to send a goodbye message to United fans. He wrote: “It has been great to play for Manchester United and I just want to say thank you to the club, the fans and my teammates. It was a privilege to play for this huge club. I wish all the best for the Red Devils.”

The Spaniard didn’t pull up any trees during his time at Old Trafford, but he still filled a gap at times. I don’t think anyone will be shedding a tear about his premature exit, yet we all wish Reguilon the best in the future.
Hopefully it won’t be long before Shaw is back in the line-up.
