‘Proper baller’: Manchester City ace voices high praise for Jadon Sancho as United exit looms

DORTMUND, GERMANY - FEBRUARY 02: Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund celebrates with team mate Jadon Sancho after scoring their side's third goal during the DFB Cup Round of Sixteen match between Borussia Dortmund and SC Paderborn 07 at Signal Iduna Park on February 02, 2021 in Dortmund, Germany. Erling Haaland took to Instagram to laud exiled Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.

The pair enjoyed a year linking up together at Borussia Dortmund before Sancho’s highly-anticipated move to Old Trafford. The following year, Haaland departed for cross-city rivals Manchester City.

Since then, the two attackers have endured significantly different paths at their respective clubs, so much so that the Englishman is now closing in on a return to the Signal Iduna Park in hopes of revitalising his career away from Erik ten Hag.

He’s expected to join the German outfit in the coming days and will look to aid them in their Champions League journey, as well as playing catch-up to the top-four in the Bundesliga.

Haaland’s praise for Sancho

Reminiscing on Dortmund’s DFB Pokal win in 2021, Haaland shared a throwback snap alongside Sancho, who was the top goalscorer of the competition that season, posing with the trophy.

The treble-winner captioned his Instagram story: “Proper baller that”.
