Gordon Strachan explains Sir Alex Ferguson is still his mischievous self

Gordon Strachan revealed Sir Alex Ferguson showed his mischievous side at his wife’s funeral recently – by whacking him around the head and telling him to get a haircut.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s wife Lady Cathy passed away in October at the age of 84, and many of the former Manchester United manager’s friends from the football world attended the funeral.

Even though it wasn’t the best circumstances, Strachan tells a funny story about his reunion with his former boss, who he hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye with.

Strachan told Boyle Sports, as per the Daily Star: “He whacked me around the back of the head and told me to get a haircut!

“I’m 66 years of age, but it seriously got me thinking about going to a barber.”

During their professional careers, Ferguson and Strachen fell out after enjoying success together, but they’ve since reconnected.

Strachan played under Ferguson at Aberdeen, Scotland and of course Manchester United.

It’s great to see that, many years after a few rows, the Scottish pair are still friends. Ferguson has since made up with many players he fell out with as a manager.
