We don’t see Geoff Shreeves on our screens as much these days after the former Sky Sports tunnel reporter left the broadcaster following 32 years ahead of the new season.

Shreeves currently works for CBS Sports in America and made his first appearance in October when he had a pop at English football on US screens, by pointing out how fans in America can watch more live Premier League football than fans in the UK, as per The Mirror.

The former Sky Sports employee has a wealth of experience to bring the team at CBS Sports and he will also be able to enjoy covering the game with less pressure on his shoulders.

For instance, Shreeves has been able to give some time to bettingsites.co.uk to answer their questions on his successful broadcasting career.

Shreeves shared an unbelievable story about the time Sir Alex Ferguson leapt at him – for something he asked Cristiano Ronaldo during an interview with the former United star. Dennis Law’s daughter, who works in PR, had to break up the scuffle.

Speaking about the incident – as well as his relationship with other top football managers – Shreeves said: “I never fell out with Mourinho. Pep I’ve had a few frosty exchanges with, and Arsene Wenger didn’t take it too well when I asked him if he thought he might be relieved of his duties after they just lost 8-2 at Old Trafford. That didn’t go so well. One time I did an interview with Cristiano Ronaldo which Sir Alex took exception to and he had a pop at me. I had a pop back and then he physically jumped towards me, and a press officer – Dennis Law’s daughter – jumped in between us and said ‘stop this stop this!’.”

“They were such huge characters. Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Mourinho, along with Pep and Jurgen, they’re the five grand dukes I loved dueling with the most. When you’re going in there to interview them, you’re trying to get an answer for your viewers, so it’s how far you are willing to push them; a lot of that depends on your relationship with them.”
