Player ratings: Manchester United 0-1 Bayern Munich – Amrabat 4, Varane 5

Manchester United have lost 1-0 against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford to crash out of Europe.

After finishing bottom of Group A in the Champions League, the Reds won’t have any European football to look forward to in the New Year. Instead it will be time to focus on our domestic form.

Bayern Munich were by far the better team on the night and I feel that our player rating reflect that (given how low United players are rated).

Without further ado, sit back and check out our player ratings.

Andre Onana – 5

Did okay but wasn’t troubled by Bayern for much of the game. There wasn’t a lot he could have done for Kingsley Coman’s opening goal.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Important header at the far post in the first-half. Didn’t perform as strongly on the left flank.

Harry Maguire – 6

Solid before his first-half injury.

Raphael Varane – 5

Didn’t last 90 minutes but put in a decent performance.

Luke Shaw – 6

Offered the only goal threat in the first half but went off injured at half-time.

Sofyan Amrabat – 4

Doesn’t have what it takes to play at this level for United.

Scott McTominay – 4

Meh.

Bruno Fernandes – 4

Ineffective.

Antony – 4

No end product and wasteful.

Rasmus Hojlund – 4

Had a tough night up against two elite centre-backs. Very quiet.

Alejandro Garnacho – 4

Not his best night.

Subs

Jonny Evans — 4

Slotted into defence without much fuss.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 3

Lapses in concentration. Poor for the goal.

Facundo Pellistri – 5

Came on and had a go at least. Direct with his runs, but couldn’t create anything of note.

Hannibal Mejbri – 5

Worked hard.

Kobbie Mainoo — 4

Gained experience.

  1. Seriously I don’t know how you guys rate whatever you are rating but I have seen this biased against Sofyan Amrabat since for like 2 games now because I don’t understand how he will get the same rating as mctominay, if Amrabat is getting 4 Scott should get 0 or max 1.

    1. It’s not like he had an array of attacking options to mix it up. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were injured.

  2. clearly you have no business rating players. you don’t even have or show the individual stats numbers. because you don’t know how ratings work. you can’t just sit your fat A$$ behind a screen and spit out ratings without backing them with actual stats.
