‘Accept and learn from it’ – Erik ten Hag refuses to have negative mindset after United finish bottom of group

Erik ten Hag has never been a manager to dwell on things. The Manchester United manager has called on his players to accept that they’ve been knocked out of Europe, learn from it and move on.

That was the message Ten Hag had for the Manchester United players after Bayern Munich’s 1-0 victory, which was a routine win for the Bundesliga champions.

The Germans played with composure and didn’t make any mistakes that would have cost them goals. That, I guess, is the real difference between us and teams that are ready to compete at this level.

It’s an embarrassment to finish at the bottom of Group A.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Ten Hag refused to have a negative mindset, even though United are now out of Europe.

“We didn’t make it… we have to accept and learn from it.”

It’s only the fourth time a Premier League side has finished bottom of their group in the Champions League.
