Bayern Munich star not surprised by Manchester United’s struggles in Europe

Bayern Munich attacker Kingsley Coman is not surprised by Manchester United’s struggles in the Champions League this season.

Coman won the Champions League in 2020 with Bayern Munich after previously losing the final as a Juventus player in 2015, so he knows how difficult the competition is and what it takes for a team to go all the way.

The Frenchman’s intentions in 2024 will be to claim a second Champions League triumph.

Coman, 27, has been gearing up for tonight’s game at Old Trafford, with an exclusive interview for Sky Sports.

“It’s not a surprise because I know the Champions League is hard,” Coman said of United’s form in Europe.

“I know they are a good team but I knew Galatasaray were a good team as well. Galatasaray bought some good players that were used to playing at a high level. I was surprised by Copenhagen, they are really good.

“I knew it wouldn’t be as easy as people thought, Champions League is never easy.”

While Bayern Munich have already sealed their place in the last-16 as Group A winners, United are asking for a lot in order to qualify. We not only need to beat the Bundesliga champions but need FC Copenhagen to draw against Galatasaray.

It’s a big ask for the Reds. Let us know in the comment section how you think tonight will go.
