Manchester United midfielder’s agent approaches PSG over potential transfer

Casemiro is being linked with a move away from Manchester United, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise after Monday’s transfer reports.

The Manchester Evening News ran a story claiming that United had five players in mind for their transfer list in January, with one of those being Brazil captain Casemiro, who has recently stepped up his recovery from injury by returning to grass at Carrington.

Now, claims from Le10Sport stress Casemiro’s agent has offered his client to Paris Saint-Germain.

It’s not like United are shoving any players out of the door, so it’s normal for players that get an feeler that they may be on the way out to approach other clubs. Casemiro will have no shortage of offers either way.

This would all suggest that United are ready to give up on Casemiro. Move him on before his form or fitness gets even worse, but he did seem to have lost a yard of pace at the beginning of the season.

Everything could change if Casemiro returns over the Christmas and United start winning football matches again, but that seems like a million years away at this point.

However, it could all move very quickly if PSG decide they’re interested in Casemiro and they’ve signed an array of ageing Brazil stars down the years.

This would also be an opportunity for United to cash in and spend the money on a younger defensive midfielder. Only time will tell if the recruitment team have anyone in mind.
