Scott McTominay has continued his fine goalscoring form this evening with a crucial opener to give Manchester United the lead against Chelsea.
The Red Devils squandered an early chance to make it 1-0 after Bruno Fernandes’ spot-kick was saved by Robert Sanchez but luckily for the captain, his teammate was able to find the back of the net just 10 minutes later.
End-to-end play from the sides, who are both in dire need of taking all three points, eventually saw United create a threatening attack; Sofyan Amrabat was quick to stop Chelsea on the counter and laid it off to Fernandes to ignite some of his magic.
Alejandro Garnacho then received the ball on the wing and fired in a low cross to Harry Maguire, whose blocked shot fell to McTominay and the midfielder was able to convert it eloquently.
