Manchester United are understood to be in the market for another centre-back in 2024.

The new year is quickly approaching and United fans will want to see a centre-back brought in to counter the injury crisis we have been facing in defence all season.

Genoa defender Radu Dragusin is one name doing the rounds and his agent – Florin Manea – was pressed on reported interest in the 21-year-old and name-dropped United in his response.

“Manchester United is always Manchester United,” Manea said, as per the Manchester Evening News. “It’s a top team as a tradition, as everything. He’s [Dragusin] on several lists, I’m not surprised he would also be on Manchester United’s list. I haven’t spoken to anyone from there yet, but there are several teams interested.”

Dragusin left Romania to join Juventus’ youth academy in 2018 and has since blossomed during loan spells at Sampdoria, Salerinitana and Genoa, before joining the latter on a permanent deal this year as he helped them secured promotion back to Serie A.

The 21-year-old is now being linked with a number of clubs in England, as per Chris Wheatley, but this was the first time his agent name-dropped us in an interview.

Genoa have the defender under contract until 2027 which means they will not be under pressure to let him go in January or next summer.
