Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Timo Werner.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, United have expressed an interest in signing Werner to answer their issues in attack.

Werner left Chelsea in August 2022, only to return RB Leipzig, because things didn’t go quite to plan for the Germany international in the Premier League.

The German managed just 23 goals in 89 appearances during his time in England, but is now understood to be unhappy with his position at Leipzig.

Werner could now be hopeful of a summer exit and United are believed to be monitoring the situation ahead of the winter transfer window.

Meanwhile, Bild claim Werner may not be open to a return to the Premier League, even if he’s unhappy to Leipzig.

The fact Werner was brutal in front of goal puts me off the idea of signing him. It doesn’t sound like a transfer link worth getting excited about.
