Manchester United willing to pay €60m release clause to sign La Liga defender

Manchester United continue to be linked with centre-backs.

Erik ten Hag has had an array of problems in defence this season due to injury, but the likes of Raphael Varane are not getting any younger and we could soon see lots of change.

According to Spanish outlet Nacional, Manchester United are ‘willing to pay’ the reported €60m release clause in Robin Le Normand’s contract.

Every man and his dog is aware of the fact United will be trying to sign a centre-back in 2024. Sir Jim Ratcliffe will aim to have his recruitment team ready to bring a positive impact to club.

However, the report from Spain indicates that United were interested in Le Normand during the summer but Sociedad refused to negotiate with them because they wanted to keep the defender.

We’ll keep an eye on these reports, although it can be hard to keep track of the amount of defenders United are being linked to.

United take on Everton this weekend and Erik ten Hag has three centre-backs to select from, including Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof. Let us know in the comment section who you think will get the nod.
