Manchester United legend ‘scared’ for Reds in Everton clash, expects ‘surprises’

Former Manchester United and Everton striker Louis Saha has weighed in on the upcoming meeting between the two clubs this Sunday, November 26.

The Toffees return to Premier League action for the first time since being dealt a 10-point deduction for breaking the competition’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR), which has left them 19th-placed in the table.

The punishment has essentially undone all of Sean Dyche and his squad’s hard work this term, having already picked up four wins and two draws from their opening 12 matches – a significant improvement from last season when they narrowly escaped the drop by just two points.

Consequently, the Goodison Park faithful have scheduled protests before, during and after the clash to make their voices heard on their home turf. The stadium is already renowned for its hostile atmosphere and now, that’s going to increase ten-fold.

United are a team that have shown they can crumble under an intimidating atmosphere; even mentioning the term ‘Anfield’ to a Red after March’s capitulation causes unwanted flashbacks.

However, they’ll make the trip to Goodison in hopes of leaving with all three points, as they look to close the gap on their top-four rivals.

Saha weighed in on the fixture, saying (via Liverpool World): “Everton vs Manchester United is going to be a very interesting game this weekend. Both teams need the three points, and big performances and they’re both looking for stability.

“Neither of them have been able to find that consistency this season, even if Manchester United have decent form in the league. After an international break, there’s always surprises so I’m scared for United to be honest.”
