Marc Skinner’s side got back to winning ways as Manchester United beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Conti Cup on Wednesday evening. A remarkable second half save from Phallon Tullis-Joyce ensured that the Reds hung on to their lead.

United were knocking on the door in the early stages of the match, but the women’s side didn’t open the scoring until just before the interval as Nikita Parris scored with a lovely strike from the edge of the box.

Although Liverpool improved after the break, United kept hold on their one-goal lead and secured three points after their rivals.

One of the highlight moments from the game came when Phallon Tullis-Joyce pulled off a remarkable save to deny Bo Kearns.
